I am taking bookings for individual tuition, one-to-one classes for anyone who feels their practice would benefit from individual guidance, or who may have a health difficulty which requires individual attention, or who simply feels a little shy about public yoga classes.

Morning class on Wednesdays, 11.00am - 12.15pm

A new series of six morning classes starts on Wednesday 3 September 2014.

Each class starts promptly at 11.00am and ends at 12.15pm.Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time to set up.

The price is €50 for the next series of four classes.

Evening class on Wednesdays, 7.30 - 8.45pm

These are gentle yoga classes suitable for men, women and teenagers. They place special emphasis on breath in asana to create a rounded practice which both calms and energises. Most suited to beginners and improvers, but all levels will benefit.

The chair yoga classes will begin once minimum number has signed up.

Chair yoga classes are suitable for:
  • Seniors and over-55s
  • People with limited mobility, joint or limb problems, or who use a wheelchair
  • Active retirement groups
  • Active 55+  groups

My chair yoga class aims to give those with various health problems or limited mobility the beneficial experience of classical Indian yoga. Starting from a place of respect both for the student’s limitations and their comfort, the classes will, week by week, gradually improve mobility and rebuild confidence in the body and the breath.

Chair yoga, which allows for seated and other postures, is suitable for those who have found regular yoga classes too challenging. Those who will benefit include seniors, those with back or leg problems or other mobility issues, or who have wide range of health problems.

The physical poses used in chair yoga are an excellent form of exercise and benefit physical movement. Chair yoga is great for those affected by decreased mobility. Weakened muscles become even weaker if they are not used for hours on end. The negative effects include back pain, muscle cramps, weak bones, and joint pain.

The benefits of chair yoga include increased circulation, relief from joint pain, normalised blood pressure, relief of tension and discomfort. Yoga also brings about a greater awareness of the body and mind. It is an excellent tool for decreasing emotional and physical stress.
